    Cisco acquired the wireless networking startup Meraki six years ago for $1.2 billion in an effort to modernize its business for the smartphone age.
    And while Cisco works to make its core business more like Meraki's, the former-startup has managed to maintain a unique culture, independent of Cisco's corporate atmosphere.
    Meraki's overall mission is to simplify networking for businesses.
    But General Manager Todd Nightingale said Meraki also maintains a strong culture which encourages teams to work together, and requires every employee to know how its product works.
